Dreaming About Books

Today is just one of those days when I just want to read and write and explore my own mind. This isn’t the kind of reading and writing one does for school it is the kind one does for pleasure. Honestly, who has time these days to snuggle up in a blanket and read a good book or sit down at a desk and draw a masterpiece or write a poem? Life isn’t like that. We’re busy, there is always something going on. Always.

I love going to school and learning new things but would it not be nice to just have that knowledge in your mind? I read a book recently called Feed by M. T. Anderson. The book was set in the future and all humans or those that could afford them had what was called a “feed”; a chip in your brain that was essentially a computer. All knowledge in the world was only a thought away. Though I would not like someone to have so much control or influence in my mind I can see the advantages. Their schools were not full of history, English and math. They didn’t need them. All the information was on the feed. Instead classes were filled with how to use your feed and to find the best information.  It would be nice I am sure to not have to work yourself to the bone learning, studying, reciting. Learning, studying, reciting.

Sometimes I wish that I was already set for life so that I could accumulate millions of books and spend my time reading them.  In reality I would think it to be a rare phenomenon had it ever come true for me. If, by some miracle, it happens to be in my cards, I can assure you it is far down the road from where I stand now.

Once you are set for life you are more than welcome to let me read your collection of books! I would be so grateful!
