The Warmth of Spring

There is something special about the first warm day of the year. It is only fifty degrees but it feels to be about seventy because it’s the first time you’ve been able to stretch out your legs and relax in a place other than your heated apartment. Yesterday was such a day. Logan decided it would give us a pleasant day amidst all this April snow.  I sat In the TSC patio followed by the Library patio with my roommates Teah and Hillary. With flowing conversation and none of those weird awkward silences that threaten to break up a group we talked for nearly three hours. The glorious sun beat down on our faces and without knowledge of it our cheeks became rosy and deep set eyes were transformed into those of a raccoon with the first sunburns of the year.

It is days like these that seriously make me ache for spring. Our weekly weather is a mixture of snow, rain and the occasional cold and cloudy day. The warm day yesterday was just a trick on us to believe the weather to finally be taking a turn for the better. It is rainy again today and though I love the rain I wish that the warmer weather had been here a little longer.
