Life is a bit crazy

I'm only a senior in high school but life just seems so crazy! I have so many things to do, not to mention homework, so that I can actually graduate! I love my classes this year. I'm not taking any electives, just the basics, and I go to the tech center every day for two and a half hours to study Natural Resources and Wildlife management. I'm pretty set on going into the field of wildlife biology or a similar area in college. Maybe forestry? I don't know...

This week in my tech class, we learned about soil testing. We even got to perform a few of our own. We found the PH level, texture, phosphorous, etc. etc. It was fun... And that shows that I'm a true nerd, because no one else really enjoyed it as much as I did! :) We also took a test on mammal ID, which basically, my teacher shows us a picture and we have to right down it's common name, and scientific order and family.

Example: Elk
Artylodactyla
Cervidae

The other part of the test was naming natural resources. whether they were non exhaustible, renewable, or non renewable.

Non exhaustible: resources that the human race will never run out of. IE: wind, water, solar energy

Renewable: resources that we use, that can reproduce themselves, or that we can grow more of. IE: trees, cotton, animals.

Non renewable: resources that we use but must monitor, because eventually we will run out. IE: Oil, metal, minerals.

This portion of the test she would show us a picture of something and then we would list which type of resource it was.

Example: Jeans

renewable

You can grow cotton

There was also a lot of writing about how to monitor non renewable resources, what is an independent relationship?, and listing twenty resources we use in a day. I did really well on both tests. :)

Sorry for the small lesson into natural resources...

I still work at k-9 design. I'm trying to work as much as humanly possible and save all my money for college. It's hard to work, because it takes time away from doing home work. I'm finding that I have had to start staying up later to get things done. Which really isn't good, because I am one of those people that absolutely needs sleep to function, and be kind to people. granted I can still be nice when I'm tired but, I'm always right on the edge of the breaking point, so you better watch out!

Right now I am at Grandma Woolley's house. My friend Keira and I came to stay the night, and had a blast! Well, other than the fact that Grandma beat us in a game of rummy, and a round of golf! The food was so good, thanks to Uncle Dave, what a chef! It was delicious! :)

Well, I best be going but, tune in later for another update... :P
